Transportation For Your Italy Vacation

Italy No Comments »

When most people travel, transportation is a primary concern. How do you get from the airport to your hotel? How do you see all the sights that the destination has to offer? What if you are traveling in a large group? What about public transportation? If you are traveling to or through Italy, there are several options for transportation.

Many international flights arrive in Rome, so in planning your transportation needs you need to start from there. When you arrive at the airport, you can rent a car from one of the several car rental companies. In addition to local companies, there are the international names such as Hertz and Enterprise, so you should be able to reserve your vehicle online in advance and have it waiting for you at the airport.

There are 2 airports in Rome  - Fiumicino and Ciampino airport. Buses and shuttles depart from the airport arrival area about every hour and can take you to the Termini Station which is the central train station. From there you should be able to connect to all other parts of Italy. Public transportation, although it requires some advance planning, is always the cheapest option for your Italy vacation. You may also want to learn some Italian words in case you get lost and need directions or need some help.

If your hotel is near the airport or is in Rome, you may also consider taking a cab. They are known as “taxis,” and most drivers speak English and can even serve as your tour guide if you choose. You may take a taxi out of Rome if your Italian vacation is starting outside the city. If your budget allows, there are limo services at the airports that can serve your transportation needs when you arrive. If you are traveling in a large group, you probably want to rent a van (at least to get to your hotel from the airport). After that, you can plan to join a guided tour as a group, but its best to reserve tickets or space in advance if you want your group to stay together.

To see all the sights that Italy has to offer, you will do best by signing up for a guided tour. With very knowledgeable and friendly tour guides, your Italian vacation can be greatly enhanced by choosing this option. There are walking tours, full day tours, night tours, budget tours and luxury tours. If you are in Italy for a very specific sight, you would probably want to do a walking tour. The tour guides on those tours give a more detailed presentation as you walk through the sight and some of them know little-known facts that are hard to find or read anywhere else. Most tour guides speak english, but you want to be sure before signing up.

No matter where you go in Italy, transportation is key to getting you to and from your destination. Choosing the right one for your Italian vacation should a top priority when planning your trip.

Where Would Be Your Ideal Holiday Destination?

Italy No Comments »

Upon being asked the question of where they would like to go on holiday many would say somewhere in a foreign country, and many of those would say somewhere hot, yet very few would say that they would like to go a few miles away or even leave the country and go somewhere cold, perhaps somewhere interesting. These kinds of people are becoming fewer and fewer.

I personally would have to say I am one of those few, when I go on a holiday I want to learn something, find out something or even do something new. I can relax, but just not very well as I can’t keep it up, I find it boring doing that, I go on a holiday to have fun, not just to lie around in the sun.

With these points in mind I have put together a list of holiday destinations I would be happy to visit, the list is as follows.

The first destination on my list is so obvious, you’ve probably already guessed it, I’m talking of course about Italy, a beautiful holiday destination with lots to offer. If you were to visit Italy then you would be literally indulged with choices of what you could do. If you wanted to visit a place of worship then you could go to one of Italy’s well known cathedrals.

Or for a real treat you could go and see the Pope, can you honestly say you could think of somewhere else where you could do that?. If that doesn’t sound that interesting then you could always take a Venetian gondola ride through the city of Venice, a time to be wowed by its beauty or even just to relax.

For more of Italy’s culture why not visit one of the many art galleries that the country has to offer, although if you really want to see something great, something that you can actually get up close to then why not give the leaning tower of Pisa a try, it’s true what they say you know, it really does lean.

The list goes on, and it’s not all views, Italy boasts lots of places to relax, lots of places to have fun including some great theme parks. I simply can’t give it the justice it deserves using words, so why not book a holiday to Italy now and you can do and see these things as well as many more of them, you won’t know how good it is until you’ve tried it.

The second destination on my list may strike you as a bit odd taking in mind what I started this article saying, but I hope to show you that it isn’t and that it really is worth checking out, I am talking of Greece, perhaps just as beautiful as Italy with it’s own unique culture. There is a quite frankly huge choice of things to do, with such attractions as windsurfing, photography, scuba diving, rock climbing, swimming and even festivals.

But if you want a holiday in Greece I heavily suggest you look into the islands around Greece as some of them are really nice, but once again don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself.

The last destination on my list some would not really consider as a holiday destination, but if you are one of those people then you may just be missing out, the country I’m talking about is Australia, believe it or not Australia has an astonishing amount of things to do.

If you wanted something interesting to see then you could go a bit extreme with how you do it and get a hot air balloon ride, or if you want something refreshing you could go scuba diving or perhaps you could go sight seeing, Australia is huge and fun for all.

After reviewing these places I have made my choice, the question is, have you made yours?.

Italy No Comments »

With its spectacular mix of beautiful countryside and historical cities, Italy has long been one of the top European holiday destinations. The excellent selection of campsites, usually located near the major cities, beautiful scenery and sights means that camping in Italy offers the best of both worlds – rural seclusion, close proximity to the bustling cities, and easy access to the local attractions for families and couples who camp here.

Deciding to take a camping holiday in Italy is the easy part – choosing between the many highlights of the country is the real challenge. The three main areas for camping in Italy are Tuscany, the Italian Lakes and the Adriatic Coast. Each offers its own unique break, and choosing a destination depends very much on what kind of holiday you want to have – profiled below are the highlights of these three potential choices for a camping holiday in Italy.

Tuscany

The rolling hills of Tuscany, dotted with vineyards and picturesque towns and villages, is one of the most memorable parts of Italy. Campsites are divided between the inland region, the excellent Mediterranean coastline and two of Italy’s most impressive cities, Rome and Florence. This is the perfect choice for people who want to combine cultural tours in the cities as well as the natural beauty of the countryside. Gourmets will also find plenty to enjoy in Tuscany; the wine and cuisine is world renowned.

The Italian Lakes is perhaps the most beautiful region in the country, a series of enormous inland lakes, framed by mountains in the north of Italy. Camping holidays here are especially popular with families looking to relax by the lakes or to enjoy the many watersports including sailing and windsurfing. Buying Property for Sale in Italy is Always an Excellent Choice

Italy No Comments »

Until a few years ago, property for sale in Italy had never seemed a particularly exciting opportunity. There were a few farmhouses or seafront apartments that real estate agents could market under the ‘overseas property for sale in Italy section’ that might interest buyers, but that was about all. However, this situation has modified drastically and no longer is there the lack of options that used to define the Italian property market. Now variety is the new face of the Italian property market.

Types of Property for Sale in Italy

Popular Italian regions are Calabria, Marche, Lazio and more have popped up to submit their suitability as the preferred property investment destinations. Italy offers an unmatchable rural flavour, and in some areas this is quickly being enwrapped in urban packaging which is a hit with some overseas buyer. British buyers, interested to probe and experiment with different types of properties, have ample opportunities within the regions: there are new and old properties, which have been or can be renovated for the desired look. In some of the traditional streets of rural Italy there are sophistically modified properties for sale in Italy, right in the heart of the local neighbourhood.

Increased Government Investment

When you buy a property for sale in Italy, living in Italy not only lets you experience an enigmatic lifestyle, but it also acts as a perfect investment decision. Property prices are set to increase as Italy is growing and spending money on investment projects. For example; Italy’s government has a cohesion plan, which was initiated last year and covers the southern regions of Italy. By 2013 about 100 billion Euros will have been invested with the aim to reduce the economic gulf between north and south Italy.

Improved Infrastructure

Travelling around and in Italy is becoming easier. Italy now has various infrastructural developments: TAV, Italian’s train service, which was not operational at full speed capacity, is a part of history. New lines are being completed, with a few high speed routes, already operational. Travel from Turin to Milan is easy and the line from Milan to Rome will be operational early next year. 2.5 billion Euros have been invested for the construction and upkeep of stations. No prizes for guessing that the areas to benefit from new train stations will experience a definite property price surge.

The rail infrastructure is not the only aspect in transport to improve. The budget airline Ryan Air has added its contribution for increasing the zeal for property for sale in Italy. Flights to the southern region have already increased interest in properties in Calabria.

Reduced Property Taxes

Property for sale in Italy used to be thought of as an expensive option by property gurus. However, in recent times the Italian authorities have made some modifications to the tax law, which has slashed the cost of property by as much as 13%. For example; for holiday home purchasers, there aren’t any capital gain taxes to be paid, until five years after the purchase. Even the purchase costs, which were once as high as 15 % post the tax changes, have been reduced to about 4 %. Another bonus is the inheritance tax level is lower than the UK.

Conclusion

Italy is a country steeped in history and tradition with properties that reflect an old fashioned lifestyle. New technology and infrastructure improvements are being embraced in many parts of Italy, so whether you are looking for a property that gives you an escape from the fast pace way of life or you want a property with all the mod cons, there is something for everyone when you are looking for property for sale in Italy.
