Hawaii No Comments »

Are you in the process of planning a destination Hawaii wedding? If you are, you may be looking for ways to save money. With that being said, you still will want to have the wedding of your dreams. The good news is that there are a number of steps that you can take to have the perfect destination wedding in Hawaii, while saving money at the same time.

One of the best ways for you to save money on your upcoming Hawaii destination wedding is to make affordable travel arrangements. If you have yet to make your travel plans, you will want to keep affordability in mind. Vacation packages can be purchased that include airline reservations, as well as a car rental. Often times, you are rewarded with a small discount for doing so. Even if you are unable to make your travel plans in the form of a Hawaii vacation package, be sure to price compare and search for the best deals on airline reservations and car rentals.

In keeping with Hawaii vacation packages, many brides and grooms are curious about their overnight accommodations. Yes, it is possible to purchase Hawaii vacation packages that include overnight accommodations, but these accommodations are generally for hotels and vacation resorts only. Although these options are nice, there are a number of benefits to examining Hawaii vacation rentals. In fact, Hawaii vacation rentals are another one of the many ways that you can save money on your destination Hawaii wedding.

As you likely already know, Hawaii vacation rentals come in a number of different formats. For example, it is possible to book stays at vacation homes, vacation condos, vacation apartment rentals, vacation cottages, and vacation villas. When planning your next destination Hawaii wedding, you will want to examine vacation rentals that are large in size, like Hawaii vacation homes and Hawaii villas. These types of rentals can help you house guests, should you have any close friends or family members who will travel to Hawaii to attend your wedding. Just be sure to disclose rules or time frames so that you and your new spouse are able to enjoy a private honeymoon.

Speaking of your honeymoon, one of the many benefits to planning a destination wedding is the fact that you can have your wedding and honeymoon all at the same time. In fact, with a destination Hawaii wedding, the honeymoon begins as soon as you say “I do.” It is also important to focus on the saved money. By getting married and having your honeymoon in the same place, you are often able to save yourself a considerable amount of money, especially concerning travel fees.

Returning back to the wedding itself, it is also important to refocus on the ways that you can save money by booking a stay at a Hawaii vacation rental. Did you know that you do not have to get married in a church or in a formal banquet room? Many professional ministers and pastors will travel to you. By carefully choosing your Hawaii vacation rental, like a beachfront vacation home, you can have the perfect backdrop for a beautiful, picture perfect, and memorable wedding ceremony.

The right Hawaii vacation rental can also be used as your location for your wedding ceremony. Depending on the size of your wedding guest list, you can save yourself a considerable amount of money by having both your wedding reception and your wedding ceremony onsite at your vacation rental. As previously stated, your guest list will have an impact on your ability to do so, as well as the rental property you choose. If this is your intent, be sure to discuss this with the rental property owner first. Also, be sure there is enough room to accommodate all of your guests. This approach allows you to save money by eliminating the need for a rented space, such as a banquet room.

As highlighted above, there are a number of ways that you can go about saving money on your upcoming Hawaii destination wedding, especially with the use of a Hawaii vacation rental. However, even if you have already booked a stay at a vacation resort or hotel, you can still have an affordable, yet memorable wedding. The best way to do so is by comparing prices with decorations, foods, drinks, catering companies, and everything in between.

So many of us often feel in a rut. We get buried in the day to day monotony of daily struggles and routine. Sometimes you just need to get in your car and take a little mini vacation. It doesn’t need to be expensive, just a 1-3 day trip to soothe the soul.

I am always amazing at how inspired I am in different scenery and getting out of my regular routine. Personally, I feel most relaxed and the most brilliant ideas come to me about my business, personal relationships, etc. As a photographer, I am able to capture the simplest of moments, but it gets me out of myself and whatever issues may be at hand in that moment.

Basically, it changes your perception of things and shifts your attitude. For me, it almost always gets me out of a “funk”, for lack of a better word and flourishes me with so much creativity!

Some of my favorite little getaways are Santa Barbara, Los Gatos, Portland, Paris, Rome, and Santorini. Photo opportunities are around every corner! California has several different areas for hiking and having peace and quiet. Yosemite has endless options! I remember when I was younger and had just a few traveling experiences. The more places you see, the more you want to!

Life is short. We need to get out there and live! We only go around once, so make yours something your passionate about!

Next time you’re frustrated with work, feel like you’re not quite connected with your special someone the way you used to…Plan a little getaway and see how much it nourishes your soul!

Don’t Panic If You Miss a Flight

Airline No Comments »

If you are flying overseas for a holiday or to visit friends and has to change airports and planes quite a few times, you may find, from no fault of your own that you missed a plane. This has happened to me a number of times, and I have found, that the best way to handle it, is to have a very relaxed attitude. There is no point in panicking, yelling or crying at this time.

Often flights can be late, and when you are trying to catch connecting flights, anxiety can set in. There is no point in running to catch a plane and ending up out of breath, sweaty and miserable because you’ve missed it. Just make your way there and get your ticket changed over to another flight. Most airports have wonderful shops, restaurants and bars so if you have time to spare, read a book, do some browsing or have a meal.

Remember, there are also Internet outlets, so you can e-mail anyone who is scheduled to pick you up and tell them that you won’t be arriving until later. Often planes can be overbooked, and you can find yourself being offered a deal, which includes money, an overnight stay in a luxury hotel, in a city that you have never been to before. Sometimes it really pays to take up an offer like this. And if you have an open mind and a relaxed attitude then you can make the most of what you are offered.

Less Common Destinations For Cheap City Breaks in the UK

United Kingdom No Comments »

In the United Kingdom we’re blessed with a superb range of air transport hubs, and it has given the British public the ability to fly to some exciting destinations within just a few hours, as we have airports in all corners of the country. But we’re often drawn to cheap city breaks on the European mainland; we don’t always consider the delights in our own back yard. In this article we’ll look at some of the less commonly chosen destinations for city breaks within the UK.

Birmingham

Despite being Britain’s 2nd city, Birmingham is not often thought of as being among the top destinations for cheap city breaks. It does, however offer a great deal of attractions for those who are willing to scratch the surface. The city centre, while not being as impressive or historical as London, for example, still offers a wide range of hotels and a great deal of shopping too. The famous Bull Ring shopping centre has been redeveloped over the last few years and offers a retail experience that rivals any other in the UK. One of the city’s main plus points is its friendly citizens. It is also a city located in one of the cheaper areas of the UK.

York

York is a much smaller city compared to the likes of Birmingham. While it may be small it offers a great deal of impressive architecture and a genuine old-world feel. It is of course most noted for its beautiful Gothic cathedral – York Minster. It is one of the largest cathedrals of its kind alongside the immense Cologne Cathedral, and any trip here must include this sight. Having said that, York is so small that you won’t be able to miss this massive building. As it is another location that is quite simply not the South East, you’ll find that among city breaks, York offers good value. It also has an airport so it’s easy to reach from other parts of the UK.

Edinburgh

If you haven’t been to the Scottish capital before then now’s the time to consider it. While it is not exactly to be included in the cheapest of city breaks category, it is still a great deal cheaper than, for example, the South East of England. It has a Gothic and Georgian centre that is not really rivalled by another UK city in terms of size and beauty. It also has a good airport which is connected to many British and European cities.

These are just a few destinations that sometimes get overlooked by those seeking cheap city breaks.
